In collaboration with the Best Practice Club, a leading network of large organisations committed to Best Practice, Head Light Communications facilitated two important sessions relating to the capture, dissemination and implementation of best practice. Drawing on the experiences of large, complex organisations, these sessions were designed to identify tools and techniques that have proven themselves effective 'in the field'. Participants were invited to exchange their knowledge of the subject in return for the knowledge and experience from other leading organisations.
By being part of this event and contributing their experiences, they took away the learnings and key tips from up to 150 of their peers. This was a unique and valuable opportunity not to be missed. Non-members of the Best Practice Club were welcome and this was a great introduction to the club, its membership and services. Find out more about the Best Practice Club at www.bpclub.com.
Ian Lee-Emery of Head Light Communications and Phil Green of Optimum Learning co-designed this event entitled 'The whole show, right here, right now.' Alex Welsh facilitated the session on Evaluation. Over 75 attendees were present from both public and private sectors. Feedback from these attendees showed that over 80% were satisfied that the event met their objectives and that they would attend a similar event in the future - 82% would recommend this event for others! Neil Lasher of Trainer1 received at outstanding 93% satisfaction rating for his session!
Head Light Communications Ltd joins a select few organisations on the British Quality Foundation's Register of Consultancy and Training Organisations. The British Quality Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit, membership organisation, which promotes excellence in organisations in the private and public sectors. Its patron is HRH The Princess Royal.
Alex Welsh of Head Light Communications joined Steve Mackenzie of B&Q and Phil Green of Optimum Learning at the plenary panel session to answer the question 'What is Best Practice in e-learning'. Alex also presented on the subject of harnessing the natural motivation to learn and how to exploit these conditions. He outlined some fundamental differences that buyers of e-learning should be aware of when engaging vendors.
Head Light Communications sponsored the British Learning Association's 2005 annual conference entitled 'Advancing methods and new ideas for learning' on Tuesday 26th April 2005 at The Royal Institute of British Architects, London.
Ian Lee-Emery chaired this conference entitled 'What does WOW mean in e-learning?' Speakers included Jane Knight of the e-learningcentre and Sarah Smith from Walkgrove.
Alex Welsh returned to speak at the e-learning network conference entitled 'Tomorrow's Technology'. His presentation, 'Time to reconsider m-learning', developed themes introduced at this event two years earlier and shed light on how recent developments in technology had removed some of the inhibitors that constrained the general take-up of m-learning. Wi-fi, the changing market for Personal Digital Assistants, the rise of the smartphone, the return of the laptop and the drivers for mobile enterprise computing analysed by Alex showed how organisations can identify and exploit key enabling initiatives to make m-learning programmes viable.
