Since our last update, we are pleased to announce that the entire East Midlands ACPO collaboration have selected Talent 360 for a roll-out to their forces, and that British Transport Police have also selected Talent 360 for a nation-wide deployment.

West Midlands Police, having got started with Talent 360 in June, have made rapid progress.  See the update from Nick Savage.

With twelve forces are now making use of Talent 360, don't miss the chance to try it out for yourself. See below for more details.

Five police forces in the East Midlands collaborate and select Talent 360® from Head Light Communications

Exploiting the uniquely powerful multi-tenant Software as a Service Talent platform, the forces of Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire will be able to run cross-regional assessment and development programmes as well as local programmes tailored for their own forces.

Sue Scott, Director of HR at Lincolnshire Police says: “We are committed to working collaboratively across the East Midlands Forces especially at this time of austerity and this project enables us to support our on-going commitment to people development, so that we can continue to provide the best possible services to our local communities.”

British Transport Police select Talent 360® from Head Light Communications

After a review of other 360 systems and tools, British Transport Police have selected Talent 360 from Head Light Communications. Dawn Buddell, Leadership and Talent Development Manager at British Transport Police says: “Head Light Communications comes highly recommended from many other forces and their Talent 360 product has proven itself to be an effective tool in the police environment. From an economic standpoint, this represents good value for money even in these difficult times.”

West Midlands Police Talent 360® Update

Nick Savage, West Midlands Police says: We selected Talent 360 back in June because we wanted the ability to manage and control our own review programmes. Talent 360 gives us the ability to tailor almost all aspects of the 360 review, including questionnaires, e-mails and even the screens people access.

We’ve all found it very easy to use and have only called the Help Desk a few times since going live. They were very helpful in answering our questions and if I’m honest the answers were all in the User Guides and on-screen ‘How Tos’ anyway!

We limited the initial review to just 32 people and in just a month or two its become very popular with a bit of a queue forming! Our business case to justify the acquisition of our own in-house tool was pretty straightforward - as well as giving us the ability to administer the process ourselves, we also predicated a substantial cost saving for the force through increased usage of the system.

We plan to expand its use out now to those in Senior Leadership positions and for those that have been newly promoted. This will also give us the opportunity to use some of its more advanced features such as the ability to create and share Benchmark data and run Moderated reviews.

Their User Group has also been useful in creating a collaborative forum for us to share ideas, work together on future projects and to play a real part in influencing product direction.

We have made a good choice in Talent 360 and in Head Light Communications."

Police Talent Management & 360 User group

A Talent Management User group, just for the Police, is making good progress in the pursuit of its aims:

  • To be a source of and forum for the creation and sharing of good practice of the application of Talent Management activities (e.g. 360) in the force,

  • To collaborate and create shared assets, tools and resources that might not be within reach of a single force,

  • To represent and influence the inclusion of police force requirements of 360 and other Talent Management practices with the Talent software.

This recently enlarged group is getting together again in January to follow up actions from the summer.  If you would like to know about it, please reply to this e-mail or visit the Information Request page of our web site at www.head-light.co.uk.

Open offer to try Talent 360® for yourself

With Talent 360 now fast becoming the 360 tool of choice for so many forces, we would like you to have the chance to try out our 360 software.

This is in partnership with Hertfordshire Constabulary, who have kindly agreed to provide their Leadership Potential questionnaire for this purpose.

In 2008 we conducted a trial across multiple forces that included over 100 reviews all performed online by both officers and police staff at all levels across their organisations.  Even though these reviews were completed without providing any training for end-users, over 92% found that performing these reviews was both quick and easy to do.

Those that provided feedback to others have developed an appetite to be reviewed themselves - nearly 60% would like a 360 review of their own and 88% would be happy to be asked to provide more feedback using the Talent 360 software.

Either call us on 0845 054 2364 or reply with your contact details and we will be in touch shortly.
