Talent Management Update June 2010
Since our last update, we are pleased to announce that both West Midlands
Police and Suffolk Constabulary have selected Talent 360 from Head
Light Communications as their 360 degree review and feedback tool.
Reducing spend and improving value for money
Talent 360 is enabling more and more forces to
realise the benefits of the 360
technique and avoid the costly usage or per report charges that so
often accompany outsourced or managed services. By using
Talent 360, each force effectively brings the 360 tool in-house.
This makes it possible, and cost effective, to apply the 360 technique
across the organisation where it had once
been beyond economic reach.
With support for the frameworks of both the ICF and the
Chartered Management Institute, and combined with the ability to easily add your
own questionnaires, 360 degree feedback is now accessible
to both Officers and Staff for individual, local and national programmes.
With Talent360, you only pay for the tool and not each time you use
it.
Police Talent Management & 360 User group
A Talent Management User group, just for the Police, has been formed and
will meet
for the first time next month. Chaired by a member of the
force in rotation, it will pursue the following aims:
-
To be a source
of and forum for the creation and sharing of good practice of the
application of Talent Management activities (e.g. 360) in the force,
-
To collaborate
and create shared assets,
tools and resources that might not be within
reach of a single force,
-
To represent and influence the inclusion of police force
requirements of 360 and other Talent Management practices with the
Talent software.
If you would like to know about this group, its composition and
its aims, please reply to this e-mail or visit the
Information Request page of our web site at

Update from Thames Valley Police
Thames Valley Police, having selected
Talent 360 last summer, are enjoying some very positive feedback
themselves. According to Alison Sercombe, their Leadership &
Career Development Business Partner:
'Thames Valley
Police is now using the Talent 360 product within its development
menu. It has proved to be a much sought after tool with many
officers and staff seeking to use the process as soon as they can.
We have completed a pilot group, some candidates on our Talent
Management Scheme and an entire group of Team Leaders within one
department. Our candidates on the national High Potential
Development Scheme (HPDS) for police officers are about to start. So
far it has proven to be a very useful
investment.'
Open offer to try Talent360 for yourself
Following the successful trials of Talent 360 by the forces of Durham, Hampshire, PSNI and Fife
last year, and the recently announced selection of Talent 360 by West
Midlands Police and Suffolk Constabulary, we would like you to have the chance to try
out our 360 software.
This
is in partnership with Hertfordshire Constabulary, who have kindly
agreed to provide their Leadership Potential questionnaire for this purpose.
Last year, the trial included over 100 reviews all performed online by both officers and police staff at all levels across their organisations. Even though these reviews
were completed without providing any training for end-users, over 92%
found that performing these reviews was both quick and easy to do.
Those that provided feedback to others have developed an appetite to be
reviewed themselves - nearly 60% would like a 360 review of their
own and 88% would be happy to be asked to provide more feedback
using the Talent 360 software.
The nature of 360 feedback is
such that, with feedback being sought from both inside and across
the forces, your force may have already used Talent 360! At
last count, this was over 70% of the UK police forces!
Either call us on 0845 054 2364 or reply with your contact details and we will be in
touch shortly.
