Summer Newsletter

In this issue

We lead this month with the first part of a two part article on the subject of competency models - specifically on developing them from the behaviours and practices of higher performers in the business.  The article concludes in the next issue with a piece on how to develop assessments using multiple mechanisms to determine talent management programmes and interventions.

We are pleased to be able to let you know that we are working with Hertfordshire Constabulary on their succession management programme.  More on this below.

We are delighted to welcome Gordon Bull on board as our Chairman and we hope that he will be able to meet many of you in due course.

On a personal note, I'd like to ask for your support for a good cause and in return I'll put myself through a half Ironman distance triathlon!

We hope you enjoy this newsletter and if you would like to discuss any items within it, please contact me, Ian Lee-Emery, on 0118 989 3555 or 'reply' and your note will find its way to me.

High-performance driven competency models

In past articles, we have focussed on very specific elements of performance, assessment, best practice, 'what good looks like' and so on.

Here we consolidate our thoughts and bring you a two part article focussing firstly on developing objective insight into how high performing practices can be identified and harnessed to have a positive impact on the performance of your business.  Read our article here.

Hertfordshire Constabulary

Hertfordshire Constabulary are using our Talent 360 product, with their customised 360 review workflow to form part of their succession planning and progression programme.

With many unique features such as the delivery of custom questionnaires (based on the Constabulary’s Leadership Competence Framework) to the differing 360 review groups, checks and balances to ensure consistency and impartiality of review groups and full personal and comparison reports, the Constabulary expects to be implementing this review process in October.

Contact us here if you would like to know more about Talent 360 and how your review process would benefit.

Formulating an E-learning strategy

We've had the pleasure of working with quite a number of you now to help you formulate your e-learning strategy, incorporating it into your overall learning and development plan.

If you are at early stages investigating feasibility, determining build vs. buy alternatives or benchmarking mature operations, we can help you analyse your current position and make practical recommendations as to next steps.

Sponsored Half Ironman Triathlon

1900m swim, 54 mile cycle and then a half-marathon distance run! Oh no, what have let myself in for?

The legendary 'Vitruvian' Half Ironman distance triathlon is being held on September the 8th in Rutland.  As this race is particularly challenging, I've decided to use it to raise funds for a local charity (WAMDSAD) that supports those with disabilities to engage and compete in sport. I'm looking to raise £1200, that's £200/per hour during the race if things go well...

Please, please, please sponsor me here.  A free Head Light Communications cheque book and pen to all that do (well, actually,  not the cheque book)
